Agriculture and Water
California is America’s leading agricultural producer; we feed the nation. I will always stand in defense of California’s farmers and ranchers. For years, Democrats in California have failed to make investments in water infrastructure, and the entire state pays the price.
Defend CA Farmers
- Protect California Farmers’ Water Rights and ensure California farmers have the water allocations necessary to feed California and the nation
- Incentivize farmers to practice water efficiency, which is good for business and the environment
- Reform SGMA (Sustainable Groundwater Management Act) to stop the over-burdensome groundwater regulations that are crushing small farmers
- Eliminate burdensome special interest regulations that drive farmers and ranchers out of business
Uphold the will of the voters
- Proposition 1 was passed in 2014, over 10 years ago, and not a single new water project has been completed
- Expand the capacity of California’s above-ground water storage to create drought-resiliency for dry years
- Expedite the construction of Sites Reservoir which will provide a more flexible water supply for future generations of Californians
- Modernize California’s aging water infrastructure
